First presented as an encaustic class for Painting with Fire, this enchanting workshop serves as both an introduction to encaustic for beginners and a treasury of techniques on constructing small objects and adornments for mixed media artists. Plaster, air-dry clay, paper, was, and more combine in unexpected ways with limitless possibilities!
I am so grateful to have sold thousands of my Earthshard Faces all over the world to Spirit Doll makers and other inspired artisans. Perhaps you have made a spirit doll using one of them. This lesson is designed to give you easy, effective ways to attach those faces to your creations whether they are flat or three dimensional. You can use these techniques with any small, concave faces - they certainly don't have to be the ones I make for my Etsy Shop (www.etsy.com/shop/EarthShards). You can make your own faces using air-dry clay and flexible molds and do the same things. And you can use the same ideas to attach other kinds of objects to various surfaces.
